All "premium" duffel bags with quality materials and some water resistance seem to have backpack straps these days. I have no use for the backpack straps, so I will not review that feature. What made me choose this bag in particular was that I can completely remove the backpack straps and it looks like a regular duffel with nice straps for hand carry. I was also able to remove the shoulder strap from an old bag and attach it to this one using the included attachment points (I run the strap diagonally across the bag and it carries fine). There are plenty of shoulder straps on Amazon that you can buy for under $10 if you don't already have one. A single backpack strap is long enough to reuse as a shoulder-carry strap, but the padding is very thin and cannot be moved into the correct position for me to be comfortable. The material of this bag feels tough and has shown no wear after a couple trips. The rubbery quality of the exterior makes me believe that it is water resistant (though I have not extensively tested this yet). Overall I'd say the materials and quality are in line with the premium offerings from other outdoor brands.Unlike the larger sizes of the Long Hauler, the 35L version only has an exterior pocket on one end instead of on both ends. This was not clear to me at the time of purchase. Maybe I just need to pay closer attention, but I wish Marmot called this out more explicitly in the photos/literature. In addition, the exterior pocket is quite small. I was hoping to use it for shoes, but my Men's size 10 sneakers do not both fit. A single hiking boot will not fit. My smallest pair of climbing shoes will just barely squeeze in. I like the 35L size as a small carry-on that fits under the seat or that can squeeze into a nearly full overhead bin; I might have purchased the 50L for (presumably) more/larger end pockets had I known better. As a woman with a slight build and narrow shoulders, my biggest headache is finding bags and backpacks that won't slide around the outside of my shoulder bones, or dig into my arms. The positioning of the straps on the small (35L) bag are among the best I've tried. They sit comfortably and stay in place even without a strap across the chest, which is good since that isn't included. The bag itself doesn't sit flush against my back, but that may improve as the fabric softens up or when it's fully packed, since it's still a bit wrinkled from coming out of the bag it was packed in. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the info and video show a small compartment on both top and bottom, but the small only has one pocket rather than two. It would have been nice to have room for all the things I like to use while flying without having to open the main compartment. Otherwise, fantastic bag with lots of room, sturdy zippers, and multiple ways to carry! The bag is the optimal size for carry on/weekend trip. Study construction, and has a few pockets. The backpack/shoulder strap is a good design that doesn't require pulling the straps out and clipping them on like most bags of this kind. The outside looks mostly water resistant, but the material is thick and heavy. If you want a light weight bag, you might want to consider another bag. My one complaint is that the backpack straps have a tendency to get twisted.Nice bag. Good for carrying an extra pair of pants, shirt and sneakers. Not really for a trip where you want to pack a few days worth of clothes. Get the large for that, I own bothAbsolutely love this bag. However, the 4 star rating is due to the bag we received did not have the interior straps that are pictured in the product details. Regardless, still recommend this bag.Perfect for medium to heavy duty use.Passed latest Airline carry on limit.Handles position perfect. If packed carefully, it will ride ok as hybrid backpack.—-Compression straps not on this model.——Every day I packed up, I noted how useful two simple, built in compression straps were needed. It would have been intuitive for a duffle like that. The great price for the rest of simple design/build/material is amazing tho!Sturdy back pack but with large duffel opening.I got the small bag on sale and this is a great bag for the price. Use it as a weekender bag or a gym bag, you can’t go wrong with this one.AMAZONa review. No patrocinada (pagué yo).Cualquier duda, pregunta.Mochila marca Marmot.Modelo: Long Hauler Duffer Small.Características:Talla S (50 cm).Color: negro.Capacidad: 35 litros.Peso: 810 gr.Me costó 45 euros. Testato in islanda.Veramente resistente, impermeabile, leggero, capiente.Usato come bagaglio a mano.Cosiglio l'acquistoComo todas las que están saliendo de este estilo, super chula, combinadas con un set de organizadores de maletas es perfecto, entra muchisimo y con el tipo de apertura que tiene se accede a todo rapidiísmo.
